Founded in 790 AS, the Empire of Phynaxia (also called the Phynaxian Empire and Empire of Phynax) was a nation on Antagarich. The empire lasted until 864 AS, when Phynaxia fell to an Elven offensive. It was eventually absorbed into Erathia.
In 1151, a group of citizens in the Contested Lands claimed to be descendants of the Phynaxian Empire, and demanded their independence, by force if necessary. Catherine Gryphonheart, who at the time was serving in Erathia's army, was forced to take her troops and put down the rebellion.
