An ancient Jadamean empire whose legacy is featured in Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer. Amberlian rule lasted from the fourth to the seventh century AS. The regalia of the empire's last monarch were sealed inside a treasury called the Vault of Time, over 500 years before the events of the game in 1172. Ravenshore was built around that vault.
Located in what is currently the city of Ravenshore, the Vault of Time is a curious relic of the Amberly Dynasty, the monarchy which ruled the areas along the southern coast of Jadame during the period 342-621 R.E. The last Amberlian emperor, Thorn III (589-633 R.E.) knowing the empire was crumbling, sealed his regalia away in the specially constructed vault to safeguard them for a day when he or his kin could return the empire to its former glory. Now that the Amberlians have definitely passed into history, Thorn's vault has become the focus of many treasure hunters. The magics sealing the vault have proven potent against any attempt to penetrate it. To this day, Thorn's treasure remains locked away from the eyes of all. -- Excerpt from a history book in Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer
Trivia[edit | hide | hide all]
- Amberlian Empire is never given as the official name of this state, but it can be, at least colloquially, referred to as such, because its rulers are called Amberlian emperors.
Horn of the Abyss directly uses the name Amberlian Empire.- The dates pertaining to the Amberlian Empire are marked as R.E., which gives some room to interpret it as a different calendar. However, the context of the game does point to equating it with the common Silence-based calendar.
