One may ask the question why to chose Almar if you have Jeddite. Almar is a great support hero and if you see him being available to hire in the tavern, do not hesitate, I tell you why:
Alamar has [[Resurrection]] as a starting spell, which is one of most powerful spells in the game. This fact makes Alamar a valuable hero for all factions except Necropolis. In addition, Alamar starts with [[Scholar]] and [[Wisdom]], which is a useful combination, that makes him a "walking Mage Guild" quickly. Four level-ups is minimum for Alamar to have expert Scholar and at least advanced Wisdom, that enables him to teach fourth level spell (including his Resurrection) to any hero capable of learning them.
What are his starting skills? Wisdom and Scholar (Scholar? Mehh.) That's why Jeddite is a better main hero. However, If you chose for example Gunnar for main hero (or any other in other towns), all you must do is to level up Almar until he gets Expert Scholar. This must be done at level 3 if you're lucky, at level 5 if you're not. Now you can teach Ressurrection (which is obviously one of the srtongest spells in the game) to your main hero and you don't have to bother whether you get it from mage guild or not.
