An overlord in the employ of Tor AnwynTor AnwynTor AnwynTor Anwyn Tor Anwyn. He was sent to kill DargemDargemDargemDargem Dargem, but when he fails, Dargem makes him an interesting proposal. In exchange for Gunnar's aid in raiding Deyja, Dargem will give him some personal affect so he can claim to Anwyn that his mission to kill Dargem was a success. Gunnar agrees, and sends a letter to Anwyn attempting to trick him. Even so, Gunnar is unable to come to terms with his failure and remains drunk all the time.

Esteemed Master Anwyn,

I am pleased to inform you that your assignment is almost (crossed out) ninety (blot) ten (blot) one hundred percent completed!

Everything went exactly as you ordered, down to the very last minute in your plan! Just got a little confused in the maze (crossed out) tired, so excuse me for scribbling.

I swear by my horns and the brand that my grandfather put on the butt (crossed out) thigh of the largest Black Dragon in all of Nighon: your little problem of a certain Dargem is almost solved! My sheer (crossed out so energetically that the paper got torn and the old text became unreadable) appearance and your name on my lips made him faint. And here's the trouble: when he fainted, he fell through a crack to the lower level of tunnels where I met him. Now I'll have to get him out of there, as I promised to bring you proof of work done. That will take some time.

Yours sincerely, faithful Gunnar.

Trivia[edit | hide]

Gunnar is one of three heroes with Logistics as a specialty, the other two being Dessa and Kyrre.

Specialty[edit | hide]

Note that the Logistics specialty bonus is affecting the Logistics secondary skill bonus, not the total amount of MP. So the bonus only applies if the hero has the logistics skill (which Dessa/Kyrre/Gunnar already have unless edited out through map editor).

Example: Hero with 11+ monster speed will have 2000 movement points. With expert logistics, hero will have 2600 movement points. Level 20 Dessa/Kyrre/Gunnar will have 30%+(30%*0.05)*20=60% (20%+(20%*0.05)*20=40% in Horn of the Abyss) additional movement points, meaning 3200 (2800 in Horn of the Abyss).

Like Kyrre for Rampart and Dessa for Stronghold, Gunnar's ability to increase his movement as a special ability makes him one of the most ideal heroes in the game, as having high hero mobility is usually among the most critical aspects to victory.
