Xarfax served in the Erathian Military until he was captured while fighting the Kreegans in 1162 A.S. (After the Silence). The Kreegans, realizing the power within him, "reconditioned" Xarfax, turning him into a loyal and capable follower.

Story

In World on Fire Horn of the Abyss, Xarfax appears as a possessed Knight in the process of becoming a Heretic. Prior to that, he served with Tavin in the Erathian Border Guards for 15 years.

Trivia

  • He is unable to cast Fireball until he gains more spell points.
  • Xarfax and Vey are the two magic class heroes that start with Leadership.
  • An early name for the Fireball spell was "Spontaneous Combustion"...which fits better with the original specialty picture!

The fireball specialty icon shown on his profile in the base game is different from the normal fireball spell icon, and shows a creature on fire. HotA replaces it with the spell icon.
