Gogs and Magogs are level 2 creatures of Inferno. They are recruited from the Hall of Sins.

"Gogs and magogs hurl fireballs and attack with their claws at close range. Magog fireblasts affect the target hex and its surrounding hexes like a Fireball spell." RoE manual

However, the fireball effect is considered to be a creature ability rather than a spell, and therefore creatures immune to fire or spells are fully affected by the Magog's attack. Although Magogs cannot directly attack allied creatures, they can potentially harm them if hero's creatures are located within the radius of Magogs' fireball.
