He is not an original Restoration of Erathia hero, but was added in Armageddon's Blade and is also available in Shadow of Death. Typically Roland is not playable, but the map-maker may enable him in scenarios or custom campaigns.

Specialty

Roland's specialty is bugged. It does not give bonuses to swordsmen, only crusaders. (This bug has been fixed in Horn of the Abyss ).

Besides the ability mentioned in his description, Roland also gives +1 speed to Swordsmen (and Crusaders).
