Summon Boat priority scheme |
The spell may only be cast on the adventure map and next to a shoreline. In order to Summon Boat spell to work, there must be an unoccupied (free) tile to summon the boat. If there are several available tiles, a boat appears at one of the top priority (see the scheme).
On basic level there must be an unoccupied boat somewhere on the map: neutral one or belonging to a player. The boat counts as "one of your hero's" if it was disembarked or summoned by any of your heroes or was bought by you in a shipyard - no matter if a shipyard belongs to a player or an ally. Enemy or allied boats cannot be summoned with the basic Summon Boat. A boat which was the pre-generated or set by a map-maker counts as a neutral one. Boats belonging to a defeated player do not turn into neutral.
At advanced and expert level, a boat will be created if there are no free boats to summon.
An unsuccessful (%hero tried to summon a boat, but failed) attempt to summon a boat consumes mana, but not in case of (There are no boats to summon) message for a basic level spell.
Summoning a boat will make the closest unoccupied boat to disappear, which sometimes can lead to tactical choice to cast the spell.
Heroes starting with Summon Boat:
Horn of the Abyss
The spell is banned by default on templates without water. Which means:
- It cannot appear in a Mage Guild, Shrine of Magic Incantation, Spell Scroll, or be taught by a Scholar (adventure map).
- It removed from Pandora's Box "all water spells" and "all 1st level spells" sets.
- It cannot be obtained by Sea Captain's Hat or Admiral's Hat artifacts because they are banned as well. Tome of Water will not include Summon Boat.
- Gem 's starting spell changed for Bless.
