Cloak of the Undead King is a relic class combination artifact and is equipped in the Cape slot. Combination artifacts were first added in the Shadow of Death expansion.
For heroes without Necromancy, it works the same as Expert Necromancy, raising killed enemy troops as Skeletons or Skeleton Warriors after battle at 15% 30% power. Unlike the Necromancy secondary skill, the basic effect of the artifact cannot be increased by the Necromancy Amplifier, Soul Prison or the Necromancy specialty.
For heroes with Necromancy, the artifact effect is different; they gain additive buffs from the Necromancy Amplifier, Soul Prison, and the Necromancy specialty (but not the cloak's components' effects), and the level of the skill determines which undead creatures will rise:
- No Necromancy: Skeletons (100%) or Skeleton Warriors (66.6%)
- Basic Necromancy: Walking Dead (100%) or Zombies (66.6%)
- Advanced Necromancy: Wights (100%) or Wraiths (66.6%)
- Expert Necromancy: Liches (100%) or Power Liches (66.6%)
Note: Upgraded creatures are raised at a reduced rate in relation to the quantity of unupgraded troops that could have been raised in their stead.
If tournament rules are turned on, this artifact can still be assembled and will display its description, but it does not work.
