Pathfinding vs. Logistics
This table shows how many tiles in a straight line (not diagonal) a hero can move, depending on how much movement points it starts with and the cost of movement. For each amount, the movement is shown for basic move (without any movement skill), with Expert-level Logistics (which increases by the hero's movement points by 20% ), or Expert-level Pathfinding (which reduces the movement cost down by 75 points down to a minimum of 85 ).
- Pathfinding is useless on roads. Obviously, it will not find better paths than the roads.
- Logistics is slightly better on easy terrains and especially good on roads.
- Pathfinding is better on rough and wasteland terrains, and markedly better on sand and swamp.

Towns and Resources
|
Observation of low relevance:
- In RoE, the Castle did not need gems for its seventh-level units, so it was only associated with basic resources. That made gems the only resource not to have two associated factions.
- Mercury is associated only with evil factions in RoE. The addition of the Conflux allowed this resource to also be associated with a neutral faction.
- Sulfur is associated with both evil and neutral factions.
- Crystal is associated with both good and neutral factions.
- Gem is associated only with good factions.
- It's very likely that
Bulwark will be associated with Gem too, as that's the only resource without a third town associated to it in HotA.
- It's somewhat likely that the
Palace,
Forge, and
Grotto will be associated with sulfur, crystal, and gem, so that each magical resource has three associated towns in DoR. My personal guess would be Sulfur for Forge, as that really goes well with the industrial/pollution theme. Then crystal for Grotto seems straightforward. That would leave gems for Palace.
