First known for his brilliant writing, Winstan's political career quickly advanced, leading him to the coveted position of a bracadian ambassador in Erathia. He predicted the Kreegan attack, an event later known as the Restoration Wars. All because of his uncanny ability to see the world for what it is. Some say this is why his troops never miss their mark.

Winstan Langer is the protagonist of the Neutral Affairs scenario in the Liberation campaign, although he does not appear as a playable hero.
