Destroy Undead is at its best when fighting against small number of scattered low-tier undead creatures. The damage does not scale enough to cause serious damage when fighting against larger armies with stronger forces. One can easily calculate, that with a power skill of 20, Destroy Undead spell only does 250 points of damage at expert level, which is worth about two [[Dread Knight]]s. All non-undead creatures are naturally immune to the spell. Additionally, artifact Pendant of Death can make undead troops immune to the spell. If all the creatures on the battlefield are immune to the Destroy Undead spell, it can not be cast.
