"Demoniacs are people (often ex-Heretics) who have been completely possessed by one or more demons. Though they have a natural predisposition to gaining magical power, Demoniacs also acquire balancing military skills as well." RoE manual
As they are heroes of an evil town, this allows them to sacrifice for experience on Altar of Sacrifice and in Grotto creatures only.
They cannot learn Necromancy, which means they can only acquire it from Witch Huts (if allowed), Scholars, Seer's Huts, Pandora's Boxes or Events.
