Spells learned by Eagle Eye are learned before/during after the fight is won. For a spell to be learned, the hero must have the appropriate level of Wisdom in relation to the spell.
Heroes with Eagle Eye as a starting skill:
Heroes with Eagle Eye as a specialty and a starting skill:
- Sanya the Cleric
- Malcom the Druid
- Serena the Wizard
- Nimbus the Necromancer
- Geon the Warlock
- Oris the Battle Mage
- Tiva the Witch
Related factors:
- Bird of Perception: +5% Eagle Eye
- Stoic Watchman: +10% Eagle Eye
- Emblem of Cognizance: +15% Eagle Eye
Horn of the Abyss [edit | hide | hide all]
If two opposing heroes both have Eagle Eye, the following applies:
- Same level of Eagle Eye:
- Cancelling each other out, neither hero may learn spells from combat
- Advanced Eagle Eye (2) vs Basic Eagle Eye (1):
- 2 - 1 = 1, therefore the hero with Advanced Eagle Eye instead "gains" Basic Eagle Eye, and the hero with Basic Eagle Eye may not learn spells from combat
- Expert Eagle Eye (3) vs Basic Eagle Eye (1):
- 3 - 1 = 2, therefore the hero with Expert Eagle Eye instead "gains" Advanced Eagle Eye, and the hero with Basic Eagle Eye may not learn spells from combat
- Expert Eagle Eye (3) vs Advanced Eagle Eye (2):
- 3 - 2 = 1, therefore the hero with Expert Eagle Eye instead "gains" Basic Eagle Eye, and the hero with Advanced Eagle Eye may not learn spells from combat
Chance to get[edit | hide]
Out of total 112 for Shadow of Death, and of (112 + Interference chance) for Horn of the Abyss .

Generally, Eagle Eye is considered one of the least desirable secondary skills, as the preferred ones are those which improve units' strength (Archery, Armorer, Offense), help in casting spells (various schools of magic), or make gameplay significantly easier (Diplomacy, Logistics, Tactics). However, it may sometimes help when it's impossible to get a spell from your town's Mage Guild (e.g. Bless in Inferno, or Curse in Castle and Rampart) and you are expecting to fight a battle against another player early on in the game, before you capture their town. For that reason, Eagle Eye is compatible with Scholar. Together with advanced or expert Wisdom, Expert Eagle Eye may be situationally usable for Stronghold and Fortress heroes, as their Mage Guilds are limited to 3rd level, and learning Resurrection and having Advanced Earth Magic could change the whole dynamics of battle. Part of the criticism behind Eagle Eye is that even with Expert Eagle Eye and all three of the Eagle Eye artifacts equipped, it still can not guarantee learning a spell used in combat, totalling to a 90% effectiveness rate. Other flaws include requiring the battle to be completed before the spells are added into the spell book (i.e. they won't appear there during the battle which could have been really helpful), inability to learn 5th level spells, and inability to learn adventure map spells. Problem with skills like eagle eye and learning is also with the limit on how many skills can a hero have. Adding eagle eye or learning will make sure, that some of the important skills will be missing, giving enemies an advantage. Things that ruin Eagle Eye
