It reduces the morale of target enemy creature stack. Additionally, sorrow is a counterspell for mirth.

If this was -3 at Expert, it might be worth casting. But what is essentially a -8.3% decrease in the chances of the enemy getting an extra move (or +8.3% chance of getting a morale "hit") is probably not worth it if you can cast something better, plus in some battles your opponent might be loaded with extra morale (+5 or greater), making this spell worthless. Can still be of use in certain situations (vs. Wandering creatures which you absolutely do not want to have extra moves), or over a long drawn out battle.
