Advanced Learning: increases a hero's earned experience by 10%. | ||
Expert Learning: increases a hero's earned experience by 15%. |
Learning is a secondary skill, which increases the amount of experience a hero gains from different events. The bonus may be 5%, 10% or 15% depending on the level of the skill. For example, if a hero without Learning secondary skill receives 1000 experience points from a treasure chest, a hero with basic Learning would gain 1050 points, advanced Learning 1100 points and expert Learning 1150 points.
As can be seen from the experience table, assuming Expert Learning very early on, after level 10 the hero will be ~0.75 levels higher than other heroes without this secondary skill. Before level 10, the advantage is less.
Heroes with Learning as a starting skill:
- Calid the Heretic (Basic)
- Darkstorn the Warlock (Basic)
- Kalt the Planeswalker (Basic)
- Loynis the Cleric (Basic)
- Merist the Witch (Basic)
- Moandor the Death Knight (Basic)
- Xsi the Necromancer (Basic)
- Kinkeria the Witch (Basic)

Skills like Learning, Eagle Eye, and Mysticism aren't loved very much by the majority of players. They aren't bad, but the number of secondary skills is limited, while some of them are just vital, and absence of e.g. Wisdom or Earth Magic makes a hero significantly weaker, especially in the endgame. However, for a hero who is not a "number one", is rarely involved into major battles, and has a task chiefly to collect resources and summon troops, Learning is a good skill. He or she will rush between levels faster than usually, and will increase primary skills rather quick, which is important for unexpected battles (e.g. when a town is sieged and the main hero is far away, throwing a powerful Magic Arrow or accumulating 30-40 spell points does a good job). Horn of the Abyss's Kinkeria may be used as the main hero, as she will get experience very fast, soon becoming really strong.
