Armageddon is a 4 level spell in the School of fire magic. It damages all creatures on the battlefield, including the caster's own troops. However, few creatures can resist the spell due their spell immunities.
The strongest damage spell in the game, the Earth Magic spell Implosion (oh the gravity), has 75 dmg each power point and 25 dmg per point more than Armageddon, and base boni of +100/+200/+300 compared to Armageddons +30/+60/+120, Armageddon on the other hand damages any unit on the battlefield that is not immune to it.
Creature specialities still apply, which means that for example black dragons or efreet sultans as well as Phoenixes do not suffer any damage.
Damages all troops at once with a fixed amount of damage and can be used a first spell that has its casting phase before units - so if the spell power is of sufficient level and there are no immunes in the enemies stacks the enemy hero is easily vanquished and possible artifacts are transferred - better than shackles of war.
Chaos cities have black dragons and Inferno Cities have efreet sultans, Conflux Cities have Firebirds all of which apart have either fire or magic immunity (and are thus immune to this spell and not hit by friendly fire that way), also have a good movement rate and less movement penalties on the travel map compared to an all level city group, making them feasible for the use of this spell and having no other, possibly damageable units (which is called the Dragogeddon tactic).
Units immune to its effects:
- Efreeti/Efreet Sultans
- Fire/Energy Elementals
- Magma Elementals
- Firebirds/Phoenixes
- Magic Elementals
- Gold/Black Dragons
