Wandering around Antagarich, he grew fabulously rich through investing in alchemical and magical ventures. His gold paid for the embodiment of many ideas that today underpin Burton's power.

Bertram the Artificer is a Factory hero. Bertram starts with a spell book and the spell Magic Arrow.

Story

An effective project manager. Member of the Captain-Director Council of the Merchant Guild of Alvar. Though Todd at one time worked for him, in Deus Ex Machina, Bertram races him to build the first Dreadnought.

His full name is Bertram Hard Word. He is the son of Bolton Silver Belly and grandson of Benoit Deep Pocket, all of whom belong to the Twice-Belted Goldsmiths Clan of Mount Lesser Smoked Head.
