Shield is a 1st level spell in the School of Earth Magic. It reduces melee damage done to target allied stack or all allied stacks.

Some may find the information in this section subjective or irrelevant.

Although the description of the spell states, that it reduces 30 % (or 15 %) of the damage delivered to a creature stack, it is not entirely correct. This is due to a fact that there are also other factors affecting the damage recieved from the hand-to-hand combat. For more information, see damage calculation page.

30% melee damage reduction is equivalent to 15 bonus defence, considering 25 defence is cutting damage in half and 25 attack is doubling the damage.
