Few Bracadan scientists have actually seen, let alone handled, a hammer or a furnace. Todd, however, had to learn how to use them, unable to convey his esoteric ideas to blacksmiths and coppersmiths. There was also a scarcity of instruments and materials vital to his research in Bracada; Todd journeyed halfway around the world in search of them before finding what he sought in Burton.

Story

A brilliant inventor. Known for innovating Frederick's and D.P.'s designs for the Automaton. Though he at one time worked for Bertram, in Deus Ex Machina, Todd races him to build the first Dreadnought. Later, he and Floribert were tasked by Kastore to outfit injured troops with hand prosthetics containing ripsaws. When Kastore took control of Burton, Sam and Todd started a resistance, passing encrypted messages in the serial numbers of produced parts. After months of successfully avoiding notice, they put their plan in action, detonating charges simultaneously in all the factories and under all the bridges. With that distraction, they escaped taking a huge army with them to Henrietta's aid in her quest to retake Eeofol.

• Todd is one of three heroes (not including campaign-only heroes) that starts with troops above level 3, the other two being Bron and Illor.
• The hero's appearance refers to a character from the popular film Back to the Future named Emmett Brown, played by actor Christopher Lloyd.
