Though Finneas Vilmar's thirst for power makes him a virtually unstoppable Necromancer, the ability of political manipulation and battle tactics elude him. He has joined with Sandro so he can use his skills to move himself through the ranks.

Finneas the Necromancer is a Necropolis hero. Finneas starts with a spell book and the spell Animate Dead.

Finneas is a campaign exclusive hero and is not playable in custom-made maps. However, his portrait is available in map-editor and can be chosen if a custom hero is created on the map. He is based off the hero Thant.

Story[edit | hide | hide all]

Finneas Vilmar is an ambitious young necromancer craving more power. He meets and allies with Sandro, who hatches a plan to install Finneas as the puppet king of Deyja. Arriving in Deyja with powerful artifacts, Sandro and Finneas impress the current king. In short time, however, Sandro deposes the current king and install Finneas on the throne. Seemingly reliant on Sandro's acumen, Finneas follows his lead on his first plan of world domination (using the Cloak of the Undead King and Armor of the Damned). When Finneas begins bucking his control, Sandro makes an unexpected visit where he uses a spell to permanently emblazoned an impression of his bony fingertips on Finneas' chest.

After Sandro's first plan fails, Finneas appears to go along with his second plan (assassinating King Gryphonheart of Erathia and jointly invading Erathia with Nighon and Eeofol), but begins plotting how best to remove Sandro. When Sandro's plan is fully in place, Finneas secretly gives Sandro one last task: remove an over-ambitious Deyjan lord, Lord Smedth. Once Sandro does, Finneas reveals this as his plan for getting rid of Sandro and imprisons him for assaulting an innocent lord. Setting the stage for Restoration of Erathia, Finneas, the necromancers, the dungeon overlords and the devils invade Erathia.

The invasion of Erathia is a great success and Finneas hatches a plan of his own to solidify his power. He raises King Gryphonheart as a lich...who then immediately kills him and assumes the throne of Deyja.
