Backstory[edit | hide | hide all]

In times of strife, your mercenary ways will earn you great rewards. With Erathia collapsing under the weight of the Nighon onslaught in the east, the opportunity for some land grabbing has presented itself in the west. Erathia's lands are ours for the taking.

Some may find the information in this section subjective or irrelevant.

  • The final mission gives you a choice between playing Fortress or Stronghold, and gives your opponent all of your best heroes from the faction you didn't pick. You can abuse this by building deliberately weak heroes or even dismissing good heroes in the faction you don't intend to play, weakening the opponent's start.
  • The final scenario takes place almost entirely on Swamp terrain, giving Fortress a huge advantage that more than makes up for their overall worse troop composition than Stronghold. As such, it's generally preferred to focus on your heroes from Borderlands.
