This is the first real map of the heroes 3 campaigns (in terms of difficulty). The player does start with 3 towns, but two of them are missing [[Fort]]. A cunning player knowing what is ahead of them (or one who read a user commentary), has brought at least 6 Knights or Clerics - as a result, their main hero (probably Orrin, Valeska or someone similar who can capitalize on the advantage) has about 64 Marksmen around day 3-4. If said hero also has access to Expert [[Slow]], [[Clone]], [[Bless]] or other useful spells, they can easily defeat any of the Forts guarding the [[Griffin Tower]]s. With proper hero chaining, the scenario should then be very easy to complete within the first few weeks, regardless of the difficulty level (as the map is covered in unguarded valuables).
If, however, you did not bring multiple Knights and Clerics and instead have a mixed group of heroes, the scenario may become much more difficult. Obtaining the minimum amount of Marksmen necessary to finish it may take a few weeks, during which the enemy will keep harrassing you. In such cases it is recommended to quickly take over enemy towns, build [[Fortifications]] in your [[Castle]] towns and grow the population of Marksmen as quickly as possible. If somehow there is spare gold (for example, because you're playing on the Easy difficulty), you may consider purchasing higher level Castle units.

Prologue[edit | hide | hide all]
Catherine: Each year, griffins from around the world migrate to Griffin Cliff. Armies of King Gryphonheart the First tamed the griffins and trained them for war. With these great beasts, King Gryphonheart unified the divergent human colonies and formed Erathia. King Gryphonheart felt the land’s native griffins were key to any Erathian war. To secure Steadwick, we need the griffins.

Day 1 | Intro part 1 | The region of Griffin Cliff, the annual breeding grounds from which nearly all of Erathia's Griffin population comes from, is currently under the control of the combined Nighon and Kreegan forces. Generations ago, the Griffins were key to building Erathia, and today they are key to reclaiming it. |
Day 1 | Intro part 2 | Nighon and Kreegan infestation in this area is significant, but we must free the Griffins who are currently being forced to serve them. We have received reports that the capitol city of Steadwick is under siege. Should it fall, we will need the assistance of the Griffins. |
Day 1 | Intro part 3 | Seek out the Griffin Towers to the north. We must free them all before we can press on toward Steadwick. Good luck. |
